Jam the Van for Our Friends in Florida

Our kids inspire us every day! This past weekend a story was shared with district administration that a student in 3rd grade shared a story with her teacher about her friends in Florida that were affected by Hurricane Michael. She asked if her class could write letters to the students in Florida at Springfield Elementary which the teacher was thrilled to do.

The third-grader inspired Lordstown Schools to do more and help those students, families and teachers in need. We contacted the school and confirmed the greatest needs are for new clothing in Pre-K through 12th Grade. Underwear, socks, shirts, jeans/pants, shoes, boots, belts, etc…

The Lordstown National Honor Society will be facilitating a collection drive at Lordstown Schools from now until Friday, November 2nd. New items of clothing as well as school supplies are being accepted at the High School, Elementary or Superintendent’s office from 8 AM – 3 PM Monday – Friday leading up to the November 2nd deadline.

A special drop off will be conducted at the Lordstown Schools campus on Saturday, October 27th from 9 AM – Noon as well. We hope to Jam the Van full for our new friends in Florida!
